— 2016 KBA Award Recipient for Blues Radio Promotion —
Todd Glazer is not only the leader in Blues music radio promotion — essentially publicizing new releases for radio airplay and exposure — he was the first in the business. Todd started promoting Blues albums to radio more than 30 years ago, setting the bar for everyone who has followed. His radio campaigns include work for the Grammy winners Buddy Guy, Ray Charles, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Eric Clapton and B.B. King. Grammy-nominees Robert Cray, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Gregg Allman, Little Milton, Warren Haynes, Ruthie Foster to Blues Music Award winners like Janiva Magness, Kim Wilson, Ronnie Earl, and many, many more.
Todd has worked for record labels of all sizes (Stony Plain, Severn and Blue Bella to name a few) for more than 20 years, and also handles indie artists with a limited budget. Ask Blues musicians who promote their music to radio programmers and you will hear Todd Glazer’s name over and over. In addition to his superior work getting his clients the proper airplay and exposure through his promotion company, he was also the 14-year host of “The Twilight Show,” a popular Blues radio show in Anchorage, Alaska.
Additionally, Todd has worked pro-bono to promote the online pay-per-view “Raise The Roof” fundraising campaign, and helped promote the Blue Star Connection live "The Healers: Live At Knuckleheads" CD/DVD release, which raised money for the organization and earned the DVD a 2012 Blues Music Award nomination for "Best Blues DVD". https://youtu.be/FzccqOzl0iw
GET YOUR MUSIC HEARD!
Contact Todd Today.
Quite Simply, to get your music heard. Radio is still a very vital musical entity, and is a great medium for distributing your work to thousands of listeners worldwide. The more people hear your music, the more you can cultivate new fans and drive sales, continually building your name with each subsequent release.
You might ask... "Why can't I just send my CD to a list of DJs I found in a musician's handbook?" Well, you can, but it may very well be a waste of your valuable time and hard-earned money. As an independent radio promoter specializing in the blues, roots and soul musical genres, Todd Glazer has spent years establishing and maintaining professional relationships with hundresd of DJs and Music Directors across the country and around the world. It is because of this continual contact he has with the radio 'powers that be' that he has developed one of the best reputations in the business (see "Endorsements" above).
The bottom line is: it's better to have someone else represent you than to try to do your own self-promotion. It can make you look unprofessional, and often times the DJs and programmers prefer not to talk directly to the artist (until it's time for on-air interviews!) For those of you who have done your own booking... it's the same concept. Let someone else do the ‘dirty work’... it just frees you up to make or play more music!
